This is one of the illustrations I have done for an Irish-language activities book for teachers, ‘Gníomhaíochataí Gasta’, which will be published shortly by Gaelchultúr. This one will be used to teach and practise “ta brón air”, which means, “he is sad”.
My missing cartoons were recovered in Newbridge, Co.Kildare today. Irish Rail CCTV footage had revealed that the theft had taken place at Newbridge railway station. Independent politician and Dáil Deputy Luke ‘Ming’ Flanagan TD – with a caricature I did of him – at the recent, very successful, fundraising art auction in Ballymahon for the vandalised Sculpture Garden in Newtowncashel, Co Longford. Flanagan was auctioneer for the evening.
I’m doing another presentation at the Kilmainham Arts Club tonight at approx 9pm. It will be a bilingual presentation, in Irish and English, of images from the children’s book Dhá Chluas Capaill ar Labhraí Loingseach.
